The resources on the left of this page include educational materials, articles from our CHOICES newsletter, and links to other helpful websites. This information is a part of the California Hospice Foundation's efforts to increase awareness for end-of-life choices.
Each component of the project strives to provide comprehensive information which is essential if individuals and their loved ones are to be prepared for the choices that come with end-of-life. Each component is also designed to encourage individuals to learn more about hospice, and to share information with their friends.
National Healthcare Decisions Day, recognized on April 16 of each year, is an initiative to get Americans to think about their healthcare wishes, put them in writing in an "advance directive," and talk to their families about their choices. We also encourage physicians to spend more time talking to their patients about their healthcare decisions before they have a health crisis.
Fortunately, there are many resources now availble to help you create an advance directive. The next step, talking to your family, may be harder, but there is help for that as well. Visit our online resources webpage for more information.
